About me
My name is Dimitar Todorov and I'm a sports and wildlife photographer.
I was born in Bulgaria and grew up there. Almost a decade ago I moved to the United Kingdom. Nearly five years I kept telling people that I moved because of the lovely British weather (Ha ha!), and now I love the British weather and actually miss it when I travel abroad. I'm not one of those photographers whose cameras are extensions of their hands. I'm also not one of the photographers who had a camera at a very early age, simply because I was too busy being a child. In fact, just under ten years ago I developed a keen interest in photography and it became my hobby. I'm really fascinated with unstaged action photography like professional sports, dance, theatrical
productions, etc. At the age of 29, I decided to take the long and difficult path of becoming a professional sports photographer. My goal is to show the determination, strength, hard work and last but not least to freeze the action in a way that the naked eye can't do it.
To fuel my passion for photography further I've become a wildlife photographer. The combination of enjoying the outdoors, loving wild animals and already having the necessary equipment and knowledge it was simply a no-brainer choice for me. This has culminated in running the photography at many youth sporting events.
I've been asked many times what my professional long term goal is and I always tell the same thing. "Have fun while I do what I love doing!" Simple as that!
